In a continent where conflicts often seem to make and dominate headlines, the role of peacebuilding initiatives cannot be overstated. More often than not, most of such conflicts implicate religion. Recognizing the critical need for interfaith harmony and sustainable peace, the Programme for Christian-Muslim Relations in Africa (PROCMURA) convened a two-day Peace Workshop that brought together Peace Actors and Peacebuilding Scholars from across Sub-Saharan Africa.

Africa is one of the continents that has long been known to be very patriarchal. The Programme for Christian-Muslin Relations in Africa (PROCMURA) strongly advocates rewriting this narrative and full adoption of Aspiration 6 of the African Union’s Agenda 2063, which calls for “an Africa, whose development is people-driven, relying on the potential of African people, especially its women and youth, and caring for children”.

The Programme for Christian-Muslim Relations in Africa (PROCMURA) held its 18th General Council at the Milele Beach Hotel of the Presbyterian Church of East Africa from 6th – 13th April, 2024. The 2024 Council was, in all measures, an impactful and eventful occasion that saw two hundred and fifty (250) stakeholders from across Africa, Europe and North America take part in its various Pre & Post Council workshops and activities.
